Lauren Mooney

Lauren Mooney started pole fitness 6 years ago when she wanted to tone up and to find a new hobby. “I used to go to the gym but felt like I was getting bored but i didn’t see any improvements. Since starting pole I have lost weight, toned up and I am now able to do incredible things I’d never thought I’d be able to do.” She said.

“I have a bubbly personality and love to make people feel welcomed when they come into my classes. The excitement i get when I see my students progress and how their confidence has grown makes me realise how much I adore the sport. When I am not teaching,  you while find me in class learning and improving my own skills, I like to push myself and not just my students.

“Through pole I have performed on a few different stages around Glasgow and pushed myself outside my comfort zone.  But with pole my confidence has grown, my body has gotten stronger and i cant imagine where I would be without the amazing sport and the amazing support from the people around me, including the support i received at HHL where i began my pole career as a student and now have been given the opportunity to teach at the studio.”

Mojo

Joanne AKA ‘Mojo’ decided to try pole dancing after seeing a picture of someone doing a trick on a pole which she thought looked beautiful and so strong. She immediately became hooked after her first class and wanted to learn everything. Taking up pole is the best thing Joanne has ever done for herself and she is adament that anyone who does pole dancing will not only see themselves getting stronger but also happier, more confident and caring less about what others think!

Joanne loves to create slinky and dynamic routines with plenty of kips, splits, hair flicks and body rolls, as well as strong and bendy tricks. In 2022 she entered her second competition where she won 1st place (Authentic Pole Sance Heats- advanced category) then placed 3rd at the finals in England.

Joanne completed a pole dance instructor course in 2021 (Beg/Int cert) and 2022

(Adv cert) and is loving teaching so far. She is passionate about helping others believe in their body’s abilities and achieve their goals.
